REVIEWS

"There’s also one other drummer who is just as prolific: the criminally underrated John Macaluso....His drumming on the album ("The Radio Waves Goodbye") is absolutely stunning; time and time again, Macaluso reminds us why he’s one of the best in the biz."

-The Metal Observer

"  “The Radio Waves Goodbye” really is a very unique album.  I don’t think there is any other album reviewed here on this site that you can compare it to.  There are traces of influence throughout yet John Macaluso has managed to add his own stamp to the progressive genre with an impressive collection of tracks that really have something for fans from all angles of this varied genre from past to present.  Overall the album is a very rewarding experience after a few listens and could well be the surprise package of 2007.  "

-Virtuosity One

"The ridiculously talented and sought-after John Macaluso stretches his drumming and writing talents to the limit on this amazing album.... this album achieves a flow and conceptual depth that most albums lack, period."

-The Omega Order

"Macaluso has steadily gained the attention around fusion circles as a drummer with his own sound, mesmerizing listeners with his unique use of cymbals and most noticeably his highhat work which is always busy and sophisticated. His aggressive and complex style takes the other musicians outside of their comfort zone, pushing them into new directions and displays of frenetic creative interplay."

-ProgGnosis, MCM: "1900 Hard Times"

("The Radio Waves Goodbye" is) chock-full of mind-boggling beats from one of the most experienced drummers in the world.  Macaluso’s vision for UNION RADIO was to create the best album he had ever played on in his career, and in that, he has succeeded admirably."

-The Metal Observer

"John Macaluso's powerful drum fills adding that extra bit of magic... (his) nimble drum work forming the groundwork for some memorable hooks and melodies."

-Sea of Tranquility, Chris Caffery: "House of Insanity"

"....The Radio Waves Goodbye, which displays his full versatility as a composer through a collection of 13 tracks that scream quality from start to finish."

-Guitar 9

''Heal the Waters" is the standout track on the disk with drummer John Macaluso throwing a kitchen-sink full of percussive ideas into the mix giving the tune an intensity and interest which few can match."

- New Horizons, ARK: "Burn the Sun"

"...the skull crushing drums pounded out by John Macaluso (Malmsteen, Ark, TNT). He's a thunderously talented drummer in his own right and thumps this disc into shape."

Revelationz, Starbreaker: "Love's Dying Wish"
